The Homestay option in more detail:

With our Homestay option you can be assured of the following:

Experienced Teachers: All our teachers have taught for several years and are experienced with teaching under 18s.

Engaging Classes: Varied class types and content for example cartoon classes, reading and writing classes as well as oral classes centred around different topics. Our camps are suitable for all children aged between 7 and 17 and open to campers of all Mandarin levels.

Cultural Activities: We organise a wide-range of fun activities from painting masks, practising calligraphy to playing mahjong and cooking classes.

Field Trips: Twice a week campers can explore more of the city through our excursions to places like the Great Wall, Museums, Beijing’s lakes and more.

Safety First: Each camper’s well-being is our paramount concern. We make sure every child is well looked after through careful 24/7 supervision and the creation of a safe yet fun environment. We share photos of each camper’s experience with parents and keep in contact so you know how your child is doing.

Accommodation: Enjoy a comfortable and homely stay at a host’s apartment or house. Host families have all been appraised by That’s Mandarin and have been working with us for many years. Hosts are all experienced with looking after children, many of them have brought up their own children; you can rest happy in the knowledge that your child is being well looked after. Homestays comprise of a private bedroom within a host’s apartment/house. There is air conditioning/heating, free WIFI, access to a shared bathroom and 24/7 hot water. The host will also provide their camper with 2x traditional and healthy Chinese meals per day. This option really allows campers to become fully immersed in the Chinese language and culture experience, making the homestay a unique and exciting experience.
